Start by draining your tuna thoroughly. You don't want any excess liquid making the salad soggy. Once drained, place the tuna in a medium-sized bowl and use a fork to gently break it apart into smaller pieces.
Next, add in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and pickle juice. Stir these together with the tuna until everything is well combined. You want the mixture smooth but not overly mushy.
Now it's time to incorporate the crunch. Gently fold in the relish and red onion. Take care not to overmix, as you want to maintain some texture.
Finally, season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together once more to ensure an even distribution of ingredients.
Transfer the salad to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps meld the flavors and gives a refreshing coolness to the dish.
